About Espresso
Brewed by forcing pressurized hot water through finely ground coffee beans. Angelo Moriondo patented the first espresso machine in Turin in 1884. A single shot is 25-30ml extracted in 25-30 seconds. The crema on top indicates proper extraction. Italians drink it standing at the bar. The word means pressed out in Italian.
