A hot Christmas cocktail of rum, brandy, beaten eggs, sugar, and spices. Not related to the cartoon. First documented in 1822 by journalist Pierce Egan. Served in a bowl or mug with nutmeg on top. A richer, hotter eggnog. Regional tradition in the American Upper Midwest. The batter can be bought premade in Wisconsin.
