About Schnapps
The name comes from Low German for swallow. Fruit brandy distilled from fermented fruit mash. German schnapps is strong and unsweetened, unlike American schnapps. Over 20,000 fruit varieties are distilled in Germany. Obstler, a blend of apple and pear, is the most common.
