About Sazerac
Americas first cocktail according to New Orleans lore. Rye whiskey or cognac with absinthe or Herbsaint rinse, Peychauds bitters, and a sugar cube. The glass is rinsed with absinthe, then discarded, leaving only the aroma. Named after Sazerac de Forge et Fils cognac. The official cocktail of New Orleans since 2008.
