About Mint Julep
The signature drink of the Kentucky Derby since 1938. Over 120,000 are served at Churchill Downs each Derby weekend. Bourbon, sugar, water, and crushed mint. Traditionally served in a silver or pewter cup that frosts on the outside. Senator Henry Clay popularized it in Washington DC in the 1800s.
