About Mezcal
Made from any type of agave, unlike tequila which uses only blue agave. Over 30 agave varieties are used. Artisanal production involves roasting pinas in earthen pits. Smoky flavor distinguishes it from tequila. The worm was a 1950s marketing gimmick. Oaxaca produces 90% of the worlds mezcal.
