About Manhattan
Supposedly invented at the Manhattan Club in New York for a banquet hosted by Winston Churchills mother. Rye whiskey, sweet vermouth, and bitters. One of the six basic drinks in David Emburys Fine Art of Mixing Drinks. The cherry garnish is traditional. A perfect Manhattan uses equal parts sweet and dry vermouth.
