About Gimlet
Gin or vodka with lime juice. British Royal Navy sailors received lime juice to prevent scurvy. The Gimlet may be named after the tool used to open lime juice barrels. Raymond Chandler mentioned it in The Long Goodbye. A properly made gimlet is half gin, half Roses lime juice.
