About Genmaicha
Green tea mixed with roasted brown rice. Originally a poor persons tea, the rice stretched expensive tea leaves. The roasted rice gives a nutty, popcorn-like aroma. Sometimes called popcorn tea because the rice occasionally pops during roasting. Now enjoyed across all social classes. A comforting, low-caffeine green tea.
