About Cana
Portuguese sugarcane spirit from Madeira and the Azores. Similar to cachaca but with Portuguese distillation traditions. Aged versions develop complexity in oak. The Madeira version is called aguardente de cana. Used in Madeira cooking and cocktails. Over 2 million liters produced annually.
