About Amaretto Sour
Amaretto means a little bitter in Italian. Made from apricot kernels or almonds. Disaronno claims to use a 1525 recipe from a lovers gift to a widow. The sour combines amaretto with lemon juice and egg white. The 1970s version was overly sweet, modern craft versions balance it with bourbon.
