About Tepache
Mexican fermented pineapple drink. Made from pineapple peels, piloncillo unrefined sugar, and cinnamon. Ferments naturally for 2-3 days. Low alcohol, typically 1-2% ABV. Sold by street vendors from barrel carts. Pre-Columbian in origin, predating Spanish arrival. The probiotic benefits are a bonus.
