A fermented bread drink common in Russia and Eastern Europe. Made from rye bread, sometimes flavored with fruit or herbs. Typically 1-2% ABV. Over 1 billion liters consumed annually in Russia. Street vendors sell it from yellow tank trailers in summer. The taste is mildly sweet and bready.
