About Kumis
Fermented mare milk from Central Asia. Similar to airag but specifically from Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The fermentation produces 2-3% alcohol. Traditionally churned in a horsehide container. Nomadic herders have made it for thousands of years. Considered a health tonic rich in vitamins and probiotics.
