Hibiscus flower drink from Senegal, similar to hibiscus tea. The national drink of Senegal. Made from dried hibiscus calyces with sugar, ginger, and sometimes mint. Bright red color. Called sobolo in Nigeria, karkade in Egypt. Over 100 million liters consumed annually in West Africa. Refreshing when served ice cold.
