About Atolle
A traditional Mesoamerican corn-based hot drink. Made from masa corn dough, water, cinnamon, and piloncillo sugar. Sometimes flavored with chocolate or fruit. The Aztecs and Maya drank it. The name comes from Nahuatl atolli. Still a common breakfast drink in rural Mexico and Guatemala.
