About Sangria
The name comes from sangre meaning blood for its red color. Red wine with chopped fruit, brandy, and soda water. The Romans mixed wine with water and spices as a precursor. Protected under EU law since 2014, must be made in Spain or Portugal. White sangria with white wine is a modern variation.
