About Cynar
An Italian bitter amaro made from artichokes and 13 herbs. The name comes from cynara, the artichoke genus. Despite the artichoke base, it does not taste like artichokes. Popular as a digestif and in cocktails. The vintage 1960s ads featured Ernest Borgnine. Used in the Artichoke Hold cocktail.
